Leah Finkel, MD is an assistant professor in pediatric emergency medicine and the pediatric director at the University of Illinois Health System (UIH). She received her MD from University of Illinois and completed her post graduate training at the University of Chicago for her pediatric residency and pediatric emergency medicine fellowship.

She has an interest in point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) and medical education. She is passionate in discovering novel uses for POCUS with her pediatric patients in the E.D. as well as developing curriculum for the residency program.

She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the American College of Emergency Medicine. She and her husband have 4 kids that keep them quite busy and entertained outside of work.
